Closet Update

I recently did the closet winterization switch and pulled out all my favorite reds, winter plaids and sweaters.  I updated my closet with a few purchases over the last few weeks that I’ve been more than happy with.  When I shop for myself and clients I make sure each item can go with multiple things in my closet and with other items I am buying at that time.  This ensures so much use of your new purchases and older items.

I am currently still nursing my newborn- which throws a lot of variables at your closet.  Odds are your post baby bod is still in flux, your chest span is well- wider and you need access to the goods.  Constant access it seems.  Also your baby will spit on you at some point.  This Lush Tie shirt has been one of my favorites this fall and winter because it is easy to wear- the cut is loose and the material forgiving.  For more formal days, another favorite is this Top Shop polka dot pajama button down that is a heavy satin.

This J. Crew vest has been a perfect accessory to wear with everything in my closet- tanks, tees, heavy sweaters, blouses ... (the J. Crew vest is almost sold out but this Halogen vest and this Club Monaco one are similar).  Pockets can eliminate the need for a purse and it instantly ups your game over an otherwise plain ensemble.  Wear opened, tied, tie in back or removed.  Wear under heavier jackets in those cold climates.

I’ve had this lace pullover since early fall and it should be worn thin by now.  I love it because I quickly pull it over a tank and it's instant glam.  Works for work, casual and in between.

Flats have become beyond necessary as I am in the car or walking the stores almost daily.  My closet lacked dressy versions, so I subbed in these designer look-a-likes and a simple pair of booties.  Also loving these Vince Camuto loafers. All of these go with my standard skinny jeans, cropped office pants and my faux skinnies.

The last switch- my favorite summer hot pink out and glam holiday red + “Brick” liner + primer are up.  Nudes on deck.
