There are some things in life that are so good, I ask myself why I waited so long to make them happen? My sweet pup Augustus, traveling the French countryside, and a spin class addiction are examples. There are also shopping sweet treats- absolute classics that, if I had pulled the trigger quicker, would have very minimal costs-per-wear by now. But, life is tough and good things take time. We recommend clients invest in classic investment staples once or twice a year. The beauty is their timelessness- which in most cases means they’ll be available when you (and your wallet!) are available.
In the words of Andy Cohen- Here's What:
50/50 boots. There is a 100/100 shot I would wear the soles out of these things many times over. Pull on with jeans, cropped skinnies and with skirts and dresses- the possibilities are endless. Flat sole is perfect for travel, slippery surfaces and long bouts of walking.
Marcie Satchel. She’s formal, she’s casual. Minimal yet striking. Hangs out cross body, shoulder strap or in your elbow hook. Soft buttery leather that will lovingly embrace you. You get it, I’m obsessed and want Marcie to live with me. A great classic, with love and time this bag only gets better.
Tribute Sandal. These beauts have been around for years and won’t be leaving the scene anytime soon. They come in two heel heights with varying colors, patterns and textures. Dress up a pair of jeans or with short or long dresses/skirts.
Hermès Scarf. Thierry Hermès began making harnesses and bridles in his French saddlery shop in 1837. His sons expanded the shop in 1880 and moved it to Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris where it remains today. The company offers leather goods, homewares and accessories bearing the iconic H symbol- Birkin anyone? Their bright and whimsical scarves are where it's at as far as wearability and WOW! factor- we see them anywhere from traditionally around the neck, tied onto a leather satchel and even framed as decor.
Rosetta Stone. What isn’t great about knowing another language? Both useful and exotic- knowing a language creates intimacy with another place and its culture and people. Something I wish I would have started years ago, this is a classic purchase that remains on my bucket list.
What about you- what good things do you wish you had purchased/done sooner or that are on your current want list?
