Cutting Down the Time it Takes to Get Out the Door

As life gets more complicated, I continue to rely more and more on lists. I have it down to a science and I’ve taken my list routine to the outgoing bags in my life- work bag, gym bag, baby bag, lunch bag.  That’s what life has come to, a list of bags with a list of contents!

Nothing is worse than getting to a meeting and missing “the thing” that gives you your kick ass mojo or that you need to actually do your work. To prevent this issue- I keep a little note in a side pocket of my work bag with all the required requirements that I cannot work without.

Each morning as I’m heading out, I take out the list, do a mental review of the items to ensure they are in my bag, return the list and go on my way.  This prevents a rogue item becoming a day ruin-er AND the mad fury of digging through my bag thinking “did I forget x….” at a stoplight.

MIA: a bobby pin.

MIA: a bobby pin.

Lastly- I always make sure a pen and bobby pin are in some pocket of my bag.  One of life's biggest mysteries is how bobby pins are everywhere, yet nowhere… ?

This super easy technique makes getting out the door in the morning much faster and carefree...enjoy!

How about you, any other short cuts you take to make getting out the door faster and easier?
